NEW YORK, Oct. 19, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Yubo, a leading real-time social discovery app that helps young adults meet and instantly connect with new people, has launched a six-week advertising campaign across New York, bringing its promise of being instantly social to the city’s streets.
Built around the new brand platform “The instantly social, social app,” the campaign includes outdoor placements across Brooklyn, Manhattan, The Bronx and New Jersey. Supporting activity spans TikTok, YouTube and Instagram advertising, Spotify audio and podcasts, and content from New York creators. This is Yubo’s first brand campaign since 2021.
The campaign challenges a category that gives young adults plenty to scroll through, but less to connect over. More than half of Gen Z adults in the US say the content they see across social media is always or often “repetitive and tiresome”. Yubo’s solution is to put spontaneous conversation first, inviting young adults to meet someone new without the pressure of a perfect profile or big following.
The creative combines tongue-in-cheek disclaimers with bold yellow designs and group photography to celebrate the conversations, friendships and plans that can start on Yubo. Headlines include “Disclaimer: The use of Yubo may result in chats worth having, plans worth keeping and a sudden loss of boredom,” turning the familiar language of a warning into a playful invitation to start a conversation and see what happens next.
Designed to build brand awareness, the campaign speaks to 18- to 24-year-olds navigating changes in their social lives. Whether they are moving cities, starting college or a new job, or exploring different interests, familiar social circles may no longer reflect who they are or where they are headed.
Yubo offers a place to instantly start interacting with people on their wavelength and feel part of something new, with the freedom to show up as themselves and let connections develop naturally into friendships, crushes, community, or something in between.
The need for connection is particularly pronounced among this age group. Recent research highlights feelings of loneliness among Gen Z adults in the US, with two-thirds (67%) classified as lonely, the highest proportion of any generation surveyed. In New York, half of 18–24-year-olds have reported feelings of social isolation.
Alex Buckland, Director of Brand and Communications at Yubo, said: “Your twenties are full of change: new cities, new jobs, new routines and new versions of yourself. But sometimes your social life doesn’t always keep pace. When the group chat goes quiet, plans fall through, or nobody shares your latest obsession, it can be harder than it looks to find your people.
“That is the feeling behind this campaign, and the start of a new era for Yubo. We are resetting the brand around what young adults want from social right now: less scrolling and waiting, more real people, real conversations, and the freedom to explore connection on your own terms.
“Yubo is social from the moment you arrive. It’s a place to meet people on your wavelength who are ready to talk – whether you’re looking for friendship, community, a crush, or simply an interesting conversation.”
About Yubo
Yubo is a leading real-time social discovery app for Gen Z, helping young adults meet people who share their interests and start talking straight away. From the moment users log on, they can connect and chat – no scrolling, browsing, or waiting.
Yubo places safety at the heart of its platform. In 2022, it became the first major social platform to verify the age of every user. Today, Yubo is exclusively for over 18s, and the company combines multiple layers of age verification technology and identity checks to help enforce its minimum age, deter under-18s from accessing the platform and verifying users’ ages more accurately. Yubo’s work was recognised with the award for Best Implementation of Age Assurance in a Digital Platform at the inaugural Age Assurance Industry Awards.
Yubo’s features and policies are developed with guidance from its board of safety experts, which includes respected leaders and online safety experts from organisations such as the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), Thorn, and The Diana Award.
