SEATTLE, WA, UNITED STATES, November 7, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — On November 6, 2026, Proliance Surgeons, Inc., P.S. (“Proliance”) announced that it is addressing a data security incident involving unauthorized activity on its computer network that may have involved individuals’ personal information, including patients, employees, and contractors. Below you will find additional information about what happened, what information was involved, steps Proliance is taking, and guidance to help potentially impacted individuals protect themselves, should they choose to do so.
What Happened?
On September 2, 2026, Proliance discovered that its computer network had been subject to unauthorized activity. To ensure a comprehensive response, Proliance conducted an internal investigation and engaged a third-party cybersecurity vendor to assist with the investigation and confirm the security of its environment. The investigation determined that certain systems and files were accessed and acquired by an unauthorized actor. Based on these findings, Proliance conducted a thorough review of the affected systems and files to identify the specific individuals and types of information that may have been impacted. On November 2, 2026, Proliance completed that review and finalized the list of individuals to notify. Proliance is currently unaware of any fraudulent misuse of the personal information involved in the incident.
What Information Was Involved?
Proliance’s review determined that the information involved varied by individual. Impacted data may have included name, date of birth, demographic information, patient account or medical record numbers, provider information, diagnostic and clinical information related to services received, insurance information, and, for some individuals, Social Security number. For employees and contractors, the impacted information may have included name and Social Security number. Each individual for whom the Proliance has sufficient contact information received a written notice specifying the categories and specific types of affected personal data, along with any precautionary steps they can take to protect their information if they feel it necessary to do so.
What is Proliance Doing?
Beginning the week of November 9, 2026, Proliance is sending written notification, by U.S. mail or email, to potentially impacted individuals for whom Proliance had sufficient contact information. Data privacy and security are among Proliance’s highest priorities, and Proliance is committed to protecting the privacy and security of the personal information in its care. Since discovering the incident, Proliance has moved quickly to investigate, respond, and confirm the security of its network. Proliance has also taken steps designed to prevent a similar incident from happening in the future and will continue to take steps to further strengthen the security of its environment. Proliance is offering complimentary Cyber Monitoring through Cyberscout, a TransUnion company, to individuals whose Social Security numbers were impacted. The services will look for personal data on the dark web and alert an individual if their personally identifiable information is found online. Eligible individuals should enroll at https://mytrueidentity.com/ by following the instructions in their individual notices and observing any enrollment deadline stated there.
What You Can Do:
Individuals who receive a notice should review it for information about the data involved and any services for which they may be eligible. Eligible individuals should follow the enrollment instructions for complimentary Cyber Monitoring. All potentially impacted individuals should remain vigilant against incidents of identity theft and fraud by reviewing account statements and monitoring credit reports for suspicious or unauthorized activity. While there is no evidence that the information was misused, individuals should review the resources provided with their notices and take any steps they consider appropriate to protect themselves.
